Over the Hill

So tomorrow is the delivery for a fairly funny over the hill cake.  The ladies that ordered this did not want your typical over the hill cake.  The wanted a Geritol Tonic box with a few minor adjustments.  Super funny, super cute idea.  I had fun with this simple but exciting cake. Enjoy!

Welcome Baby Mercy!

Today we got to help prepare a new mommy at a lovely babyshower, and had the priveledge of creating the cake.  Not only did we get to create the baby shower cake, but we also did this couple's wedding cake when they got married.  I love being a little part of all the important days! Hehehe.
The hostess wanted a girly winter theme.  She had mentioned snowflakes, baby booties, and pink!  Fun! The shower was beauitful, Danielle did a great job with all the decorations and gifts.  I was really impressed!
Congratulations to the new parents and we can't wait to see little baby Mercy!  Enjoy!

Happy 1st Birthday Bailey!

I can't believe little Bailey is 1!  I am in shock at how fast this year went by and I'm sure her parents can't believe it's been a year.  I love being a part of this family's life...from their wedding cake, to buying baby gifts, to making cakes together, to working on Bailey's first birthday cake.  I hope little Bailey has a fantastic first birthday!  We love you little cheeky girl!

New Flavors in the works

Last week we tested a new flavor in our kitchen and Pumpkin cake is offically on our flavor list. It is available with chocolate chips baked in as well. It's delicious with a cream cheese filling or a simple butter glaze. The perfect flavor for the upcoming holidays. Check back soon for our posting on our holiday cakes.

We will be testing two new flavors in our kitchen this week a Vegan Raspberry Mocha Cake and a Vegan Banana cake. Vegans need cake love too and we are working hard to being able to cater to everyone. We will be sure to match these flavors with fillings that are vegan friendly.

Check back for updates soon. If you have a flavor suggestion please leave us a comment and let us know.

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Caroline!

So it feels like it's been forever since we got to blog. Sadly October has been a slow month for us. Fortunately, November holds some exciting things. My nephew Bryson will be turning 2 with a great cake coming his way. Kayla's little Bailey will be turning 1 with a totally fabulous cake headed her way! We have a little girl baby shower cake and we've been in touch with one of our regulars about a special birthday cake. So November should be a little more lively.

Anyway! Today we sent out a super special sculpture cake for a little girl, Caroline. Caroline turned 9 today and requested a super special Littlest Pet Shop cake of her favorite figure Calico. Littlest Pet Shop toys have really large heads and eyes and little bodies so internal structure was important. Calico took about 5 days of work to get finished but Caroline appeared to have loved him when we delivered. Happy Birthday Caroline, I hope you LOVED your cake!

Welcome Baby Carsen!

So we got an order for a babyshower cake for a little man that's on his way, Carsen. They wanted to go with blue and brown for the shower and decided that they wanted zebra print. The flash from my camera made the blue look brighter then it is. I really tried to keep the colors soft since it's for a baby shower and decided to keep the boarder white instead of airbrushing it blue because it made it look more baby shower...to me at least. Anyway it turned out adorable and I think it's even better in person! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Rita!!

We are SO excited to finally have made and finished this cake and get to share it with you. Rita is having a surprise party thrown in her honor today for her 70th birthday. The party is a Luau and we made an awesome cake for it! We made a suitcase sitting on the beach with all different Hawaii items coming out of it. We really wanted to make this cake personal so we added a photo album to the back of the cake with an edible photo of her in Hawaii 16 years ago. This cake is one of our favorite cakes ever! The 15 hours put into this cake were well worth the result. The pictures Kayla took are awesome but I still think photos don't do this cake justice. Kayla's hand painting for the travel stickers on the lid of the suitcase, the inside of the photo album, on the gift tag, and on the bikini top is flawless. All the hand sculpting and hand painting that went into this cake showed such an attention to detail it's fantastic. We love this cake and we hope Rita and her family love it even more then we do. Happy 70th Birthday Rita!!!

Soft & White

This is one of my favorite cakes ever! It reminds me of a vintage wedding dress...oddly that's what we were going for! Ha! I would imagine the ribbon around the top tier would go around the bust line, and the bow would wrap around the waist. I just love it! I love the height, the texture on the bottom half. I love the contrast between and white and the ivory and I love the broach on the ivory bow. It turned out perfect. Enjoy!

Elegant Chocolate

This chocolate and ivory cake turned out so elegant. The contrasting colors are perfect and the single peony really tied this cake all together. The scroll work was perfect for this soft and elegant cake. Enjoy!

Pretty In Pink

This cake turned out perfect! I love the height of this cake and the "jumbo" tier is just perfect for this cake. The ribbon borders for this really gave it a nice finishing touch and the tiny pink flowers really gave that extra something to the brown branches. The hand painting was perfect. I love this cake. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Brad

So this Saturday I got a call for a cake that was needed asap...like in the next 5 hours asap. Normally I would have turned it away, but I really didn't have much going on so I did it. I got this little cake baked, cooled, icing made, and cake decorated in 2 hours. I couldn't believe it my self. Anyway...it was an 80's themed party and with my time crunch I just threw on some chocolate sculpted items from the 80's. A rubics cube, a tape, and pacman. They enjoyed it and thought it was adorable. For the amount of time spent on it I was rather pleased.

Happy Birthday Lindsay!

I got an order for a birthday cake through my website. They only needed to feed a couple people and their theme is sunflowers. So Kayla's first day was today and she is totally awesome! I walked her through a few steps and she got the cake covered in fondant just about all on her own. I did very very little on this cake. Her handpainting is so amazing! I don't want anyone to cut this cake! She did excellent! She also helped me with the wedding cake for Loren and Anthony with some piping and cutting and even covered the top tier with fondant. I can't wait to see what cakes we come up with in the future. Kayla is already proving to be a great asset to the team!! Happy Birthday Lindsay! I hope you LOVE your cake!

Happy Birthday Alyssa!

Little Alyssa is turning three. She was born on my oldest's due date, and it just so happens that I have known her mommy since we were in the 6th grade. I did Alyssa's 1st birthday cake, and I was really excited to get to do her 3rd birthday cake. I was even more excited to learn that I got to sculpt a Spongebob Squarepants cake. I am rather pleased with how he turned out and I hope that Alyssa LOVES him! His teeth turned out a little larger then I had planned, but overall he's great! He serves a few more people then they actually need, but he is awesome and I'm sure they won't mind having extra cake! ;) Happy birthday Alyssa!

Congratulations Loren & Anthony!

Tomorrow morning Loren and Anthony will be getting married in Frisco, TX. They chose ivory and black for their weddings colors which translates very nicely into cake. The bottom tier is clad in their initial and the rest of the cake holds bows, texture, and a line from their song. I really think it turned out nicely and I hope they love it! I will take and post photos after the delivery. Cakes always look even better in their wedding or party environment. Congratulations Loren and Anthony!

Ava's Birthday Cake

Ava had a fairy party this year and her cake was a fairy house in a tree. She had a wonderful birthday and she loved the cake even though I wasn't exactly pleased with the way some of it turned out. All that matters is that she loved it. Happy 3rd Birthday sweet Ava Leigh.

Busy

Well I don't have a cake to post today but in a couple days I will. I'm excited about all the new things going on with Breezie's. I'm especially excited that with an increasing workload I get to start training Kayla to be the newest member of the team! She has an excellent blog focused around her adorable little lady, Bailey. And from a few things that I have seen she's an excellent artist. Kayla is going to be a great asset to Breezie's and I'm so excited to see the magic she'll bring to our cakes.

Our July is getting busier which is beyond great, and I'm really excited to post our newest cakes as we crank them out! Also, be sure to check back on July 18th to see the post from my daughter's birthday. It's going to be a big one!

Little Macey celebrated her birthday yesterday. Her mom ordered this two tiered white cake with buttercream filling clad with a big pink (edible) bow and various animal print. It was adorable. I hope little Macey loved it. Happy Birthday Macey!

Congratulations Mel & Chris!

Today Mel and Chris got married in the beautiful Chapel at Chestnut Square in downtown McKinney. Months ago Mel brought
me a design and I actually posted a blog with the preliminary design after her tasting. Today was finally the day. We delivered the cake to the historical house where their reception was held. The cake looked beautiful. So far we've heard wonderful things about the buzz around the reception about the cake! Congratulations Mel and Chris!!

Congratulations Ashley & David!

Ashley and David will be marrying and I had the opportunity to make their wedding cake. I would have loved to design something, however, Ashley did already have some ideas and brought a picture. So I recreated the picture she gave me but with her wedding colors, either way I enjoyed getting to make their wedding cake and I hope they love it.

Happy Birthday Mason!

This weekend we did a mini cake and cupcake stand for a 4 year old boy. His birthday party is all about Batman! Each cupcake (white and chocolate) has a hand drawn Batman symbol.

Happy Birthday J'Haira

Friday we did a topsy turvy cake for a little girl names J'Haira. J'Haira celebrated her 11th birthday on Friday. Her birthday party was based on the colors of her new room, so we came up with an adorable deep pink and black topsy turvy cake.
