Congratulations Mel & Chris!

Today Mel and Chris got married in the beautiful Chapel at Chestnut Square in downtown McKinney. Months ago Mel brought
me a design and I actually posted a blog with the preliminary design after her tasting. Today was finally the day. We delivered the cake to the historical house where their reception was held. The cake looked beautiful. So far we've heard wonderful things about the buzz around the reception about the cake! Congratulations Mel and Chris!!

Congratulations Ashley & David!

Ashley and David will be marrying and I had the opportunity to make their wedding cake. I would have loved to design something, however, Ashley did already have some ideas and brought a picture. So I recreated the picture she gave me but with her wedding colors, either way I enjoyed getting to make their wedding cake and I hope they love it.

Happy Birthday Mason!

This weekend we did a mini cake and cupcake stand for a 4 year old boy. His birthday party is all about Batman! Each cupcake (white and chocolate) has a hand drawn Batman symbol.

Happy Birthday J'Haira

Friday we did a topsy turvy cake for a little girl names J'Haira. J'Haira celebrated her 11th birthday on Friday. Her birthday party was based on the colors of her new room, so we came up with an adorable deep pink and black topsy turvy cake.

So busy!

So I haven't updated my blog in forever. Fortunately, it's because I've been swamped. Wedding cakes filing in one by one, baby showers, 90th birthday, 4th birthdays, 3rd birthdays, bachelorette parties, banquets. The list goes on and on, and I couldn't be more excited about it. June 18th through the 27th will just be a giant blur of cakes.

What I am most excited about is a new bride that just contacted me the other day. She was interested in getting a Tiffany Blue wedding cake, but wanted something designed just for her (which I LOVE by the way!) So I played around with a sketch pad for an hour or so and came up with three fantasic Tiffany Blue cakes. One in particular I love! I e-mailed all three of designs to her and she loves all of them. Her wedding is rapidly approaching so I'm trying to fit her in for a tasting during the big blur of cakes week. Hopefully, she will be available this Saturday morning that way we can start her ordering process. I am really excited to make either one of the designs I came up with for her, but I would especially love it if she chooses the one that I love. Even my husband loves it and he normally just doesn't really care. I just think it's elegant and timeless, and no one else will have a cake like this one. The other two are a little more generic but still beautiful!

I should have a mass of photos to post in the coming weeks, and I must mention that I am a total spaz. Memorial Day weekend I had an order for a rather large birthday cake, and it was due the day after I got back from vacation. Because of the swine flu our trip got moved to a different destination and extended 2 days. I really wasn't very pleased with the out come of the cake. When we got it to the party site everyone loved it and thought it was delicious. Well I have no picture to show you! I don't know why I didn't take a picture but I didn't. I'm trying to track down someone that got a picture of it. With all the people that were there someone had to have gotten a picture.
